Week 11 Waiver Wire/Free Agent Targets

Week 11

Upcoming Bye Weeks

Week 11: LAR, DEN

Week 12: ARI, KC

Week 13: CAR, CLE, GB, TEN

Week 14: IND, MIA, NE, PHI

Cam Newton

I am on the side of the line that thinks Cam is back. Last year he finished as the QB16 and he legit had everything go wrong that could go wrong. He started off hot and looked like he was an amazing pick up for NE, then he got COVID. He had a hard time coming back from that after missing a few games and being sluggish for a few after. In that span he also lost the only weapon the Patriots had in Edelman. The only skilled position player from that team still contributing is Jakobi Meyers. He is surrounded by a better OC (Yes, Brady is better than McDaniels) and an elite supporting cast. His skill set matches the skill set in Carolina and his best years were with CMC. I’m buying Cam as a QB1 the rest of the way.

Justin Fields

Fields has played extremely well the last 2 weeks he has played. He is getting more comfortable in the pocket and the game is slowing down for him, regardless of what he said in the pre-season. He offers a great floor with his rushing and has a solid schedule coming up with BAL this Sunday followed by DET (Thanksgiving game – extra incentive to play him) & ARI.

Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones has played great this year and is getting back his supporting cast. The Giants will be the healthiest they’ve been all season coming off of a bye and get the poor TB defense. Tom Brady will be pissed so I expect Jones to play catch up.

Tua Tagovailoa

Tua is expected to start against the Jets Sunday. Tua is coming into his own and playing very well. He is taking over leadership of the team after coming in with a fractured finger on his throwing hand and leaving the Dolphins to an upset victory at home over the Ravens last Thursday. The Dolphins biggest issue is their OL but that shouldn’t be an issue against the Jets.

Rhamondre Stevenson

Stevenson looked great in his start over the Browns. He got the rock 20 times going for 100 yards and 2 scores. He added in 4 grabs for 14 yards. It is possible he did enough to overthrow Harris as the RB1 in New England as he ran very hard and was tough to bring down. He has shown burst and agility making guys miss on nearly every tough. They get the Falcons Sunday so I see this continuing if Harris is out. Once Harris comes back, any Patriots RB is just one fumble away from being deactivated the next week so if he secures the RB1 spot, the leash is VERY short.

Ty Johnson

As long as the Jets are playing catch up, Johnson will get volume. He out targeted Carter in this match up 8 to 6. Johnson brought in 5 of them for 36 yards. Coleman is back so he will eat into this volume but the Jets will be losing nearly every game so the targets will be there.

D’onta Foreman

If you’re asking who the guy in Tennessee is between Peterson or McNichols, the answer very well may be Foreman. He has looked the most explosive and outplayed both Peterson and McNichols in the small 2 game sample size we have. For the second straight week Foreman has been the best of the 3 on the ground and this week added in 2 snags for 48 yards. I’m leaning this backfield will be a 3 man committee and they all will eat into each other unless someone gets hurt but Foreman is worth a stash.

Jeff Wilson

Wilson was able to produce 10 carries in a game in which the Niners DOMINATED the Rams. Mitchell saw 27 with a lot of those coming in the 4th quarter. Historically, Shanahan will run a 1A/1B committee and that’s how I see this shaping up with a hot hand getting the majority of the carries each week.

Latavius Murray

The Ravens just released Bell as it seems Murray is ready to return. Freeman has earned the right to start but Murray will get worked in. I think this is a low end FLEX who is likely to fall into the end zone each week.

Elijah Moore

Elijah Moore is forming a solid tandem with Corey Davis in NY. Another healthy workload this week bringing in 3 catches for 44 yards and a score on 6 targets. As noted above with Ty Johnson, the Jets will be playing catch up as the season progresses and I expect them to give Moore a steady increase of volume since he is the future.

Robby Anderson

With Cam heading the offense for the Panthers I like Robby’s outlook a lot more. Darnold was graded out as legit the worst QB in the NFL out of 35 qualifying QBs (There are 32 teams) so I am blaming Darnold for the Robby woes. I think Cam can get him the ball and Joe Brady will want to get Robby the ball. CMC is back so his upside is limited on volume but Robby also has big play potential.

Tyler Johnson

As long as Antonio Brown is out, Tyler Johnson could see some runs. The entire offense looked like dog shit Sunday and they couldn’t get anything moving but he saw 5 targets which was 3rd on the team behind only Godwin and Fournette. Once Brown is back, Johnson is no longer rosterable but the Bucs have not shown any indication of when he will be back, if at all.

Jamal Agnew

Agnew is the WR1 for the Jags. He didn’t have much success in the air as he didn’t have a single catch on his 5 targets but the Jags still kept getting him involved. He is a gadget type player and this was shown as he took a reverse 66 yards to the house saving his day fantasy wise. He ended up with 3 carries so Urban Meyer has stayed committed to keeping Agnew involved. He is a low end WR4/5 driven by volume.

Dan Arnold

This will be the last time I write about Arnold. He is a TE1 the rest of the year. Another week he has led the Jags in receiving seeing 7 targets bringing in 5 of them for 67 yards. Lawrence seems to be playing a bit better. The OL is middle of back end but they’re improving. Arnold is only getting more comfortable.

Tyler Conklin

Conklin is a low end TE1 so far for the 2021 season. He isn’t going to blow the top off of anything but he is super consistent and gets a lot of red zone looks. Offers a high floor. Punch him in and collect your 5-6 points if you are streaming the position.

Adam Trautman

Trautman has consistently seen his involvement and production grow over the last few weeks. He saw 6 targets against the Titans. He finished with 5 catches for 32 yards but the volume is there. They get the Eagles in week 11 who are currently bottom 5 vs the TE so this could be a breakout spot for Trautman.

Logan Thomas

Ricky Seals-Jones went down with a hip injury in the second half against the Bucs Sunday. It is unclear at the moment when Thomas will be back but when he does, he is immediately a low end TE1.

The Jets look atrocious and Mike White is who everyone thought he was. They can’t protect anything and once you take away the underneath stuff, White is lost. Anything beyond 10 yards and there is a chance it’s a turnover. Miami is playing more like the defense we expected in recent weeks.

The Browns are at home against the Lions. After getting embarrassed I think they bounce back here. Goff is awful and can’t consistently move an offense. Getting their running backs on the field, the Browns should control the game and dominate, allowing their DL to tee off on the Lions.

The Titans are forming an elite pass rush. Even after coming off a bye, I don’t think 2 months of preparation would help the Texans here.

The Niners get the Jags this week. The Jags just aren’t a good team and the Niners are coming on as of late excusing the Cards blow up spot 2 weeks ago. I think they get to Lawrence and rattle him pretty good.

The Eagles have surprisingly played solid defense this year for a team that isn’t perceived as a good defensive unit. This team wants to run and play good defense and that’s exactly what they’ve done. The Saints have a great OL but that is about it. If Kamara goes, this matchup is less appealing but Siemian just isn’t good and Taysom can’t even beat him out.
