DRock’s 2023 The Valspar Championship Round 4 Breakdown

The final round of the Valspar is here and like every round this week, there will be wind. Trying to figure out this Florida weather is frustrating and I won’t be putting any emphasis into it for the final round. Remember, you are not building based on the position points guys start with, but where you think they end the round at. I like playing 2-4 guys in the top 20 and then get guys going out early that can score some birdies and climb the leaderboard.

DRock’s 2023 The Valspar Championship Round 3 Breakdown

So round 3 is going to be crazy. There are storms in the forecast starting around 1PM and going for most of the night. Another weather site has storms starting as early as 11 AM. You would think with this forecast the PGA would be fucking smart and have them go out in 3’s off 1 and 10, but nope. Guys will be going out in 2’s starting with last place and so on off of 1. Leaders won’t be teeing off until almost 2 PM. Now in Florida the weather can change in a hurry, but this is what we have to go off of.

DRock’s 2023 The Valspar Championship Round 2 Breakdown

Becoming a thing, but it is Florida, and the weather changes every hour. For round two, it looks like some moderate to heavy winds all day with gusts in the 20’s. I suggest guys going out early tomorrow, and if you play someone from the afternoon wave, which you will get low owned, make sure it is a stud and not some $6k value play.

DRock’s 2023 The Valspar Championship Round 1 Breakdown

For round one, there looks to be a light breeze of wind all day long and some gusts around the 5 MPH range. For weeklong, there is a lot of the so called “best” PGA touts telling everyone there is a PM/AM wave advantage. Personally, I don’t see it to be that big of an advantage, but we are here for round one and only round one. So, why does this matter? Because, like I mention every week, weeklong ownership correlates to round one most of the time.

DRock’s 2023 The Players Championship Round 4 Breakdown

It’s the final round of The Players and we are in for a great finish to this tournament.
If you think Scottie Scheffler goes out and boat races the field or even just goes four or five under and
wins this tomorrow, then play him. Just know he is going to be extremely chalky. I like playing 2-3 guys
in the top 20, but also like to get guys going out early that can put out some birdies and climb the leaderboard.

DRock’s 2023 The Players Championship Round 1 Breakdown

It’s Players week, which is one of my favorites tournaments all year (other than the Masters). For round one, the wind looks to be steady all day long with no clear advantage to the AM or PM waves. Although, like every week, the guys going out early are going to get the best conditions with the softest greens. So, I will still be going after guys going out in the morning wave, but won’t be excluding PM waves.

DRock’s 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational Round 2 Breakdown

For round two, everyone is going to go to the AM again with gusts predicted to be over 30 MPH in the afternoon. The AM isn’t much better though for wind, but we still want to only target AM guys to get the softest greens and least firm fairways, as it is supposed to get into the upper 80’s during the afternoon, which will bake this course and just add another difficult layer to it.
